Ridgetown WWTP Blower Upgrades

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent has issued solicitation T26-237 for blower upgrades at the Ridgetown Wastewater Treatment Plant. The project involves the removal of existing aeration and foul air blower systems and their associated electrical and control equipment, followed by the installation and commissioning of owner-supplied Aerzen Generation 5 positive-displacement blowers. The scope of work includes the installation of new stainless steel piping, valves, and appurtenances, the addition of a new split HVAC system, and comprehensive electrical upgrades featuring a new VFD, local control panel, MCC modifications, and power and control wiring. The contractor is also responsible for completing Arc Flash and Protection Coordination Studies, obtaining ESA inspections and certifications, and providing follow-up training to the owner. Key administrative requirements include a bid bond of 30,000 dollars and the provision of 100 percent performance, labour, and materials bonds. All submissions must be made electronically via the municipality's bidding system by the September 25, 2026, deadline. The contractor must adhere to strict safety standards, including the use of non-sparking tools in Class 1, Division 1 areas and continuous combustible gas monitoring in hazardous locations managed as confined spaces. Quality assurance is managed by a designated Testing Manager with at least five years of experience, and the project requires a Buy Ontario Attestation regarding the use of Canadian-made goods and services. Payment is based on the percentage of work completed as reviewed by the Contract Administrator.
