RIDOT: Salt Brine Mixing Tanks (2) & Pump System

The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) is soliciting bids under RFQ27006937 for a turnkey winter road de-icing liquid system at the Hope Valley Facility in Hopkinton, Rhode Island. The project requires the installation of two 10,000-gallon vertical heavy-duty brine storage tanks, featuring UV-15 stabilized resin and a specific gravity rating of 1.9, along with ground-mounted stainless steel centrifugal pumps capable of a 180 gpm maximum flow rate. The system must be designed to transfer chlorides and liquid pre-wet solutions between storage and truck-mounted tanks, including the ability to return unused liquids to storage. All fabricated steel must be hot-dipped galvanized per ASTM A-123, and electrical work must be performed by a Rhode Island licensed contractor using weathertight NEMA 4X fiberglass enclosures. Bidders must submit responses in duplicate by September 17, 2026, and include a delivery schedule based on the Notice-to-Proceed, an Exception, Clarification or Enhancement sheet on company letterhead, and a separate document detailing any RIDOT responsibilities. Failure to provide these documents may result in a non-responsive bid. The contract includes a requirement for a hands-on OSHA-compliant training session for at least 24 employees, to be conducted approximately three weeks after the first unit is delivered.
