AI Contract Overview
The U.S. Air Force, through the 421st Supply Chain Management Squadron at Tinker Air Force Base, is conducting market research to identify qualified sources for the new manufacture of roller bearings with part number 327B430P1 and NSN 3110-00-618-5880, intended for use on the J85 platform. This is a Sources Sought synopsis under FAR Part 10, not a solicitation, and no contract award is anticipated based on responses. The government seeks information from all potential vendors, including small businesses, disadvantaged businesses, service-disabled veteran-owned firms, HUBZone businesses, and women-owned small businesses, to determine if the requirement can be competed or set aside for small businesses. The estimated need is for 177 units, and potential suppliers must demonstrate capability to handle full manufacturing, inspection, testing, packaging, logistics planning, supply chain management, and address diminishing manufacturing sources and material shortages, including any associated nonrecurring engineering costs. Responses are due by August 10, 2026, and must be submitted through the designated workflow email address. The North American Industry Classification System code is 336412, with a size standard of 1,500 employees, and the place of performance is Tinker AFB, Oklahoma. The Department of the Air Force, under the Air Force Sustainment Center, is leveraging this effort to evaluate the industrial base and refine its acquisition strategy for future sourcing. No funds are currently available for this market research phase, and submissions will be used solely to inform future procurement decisions. Participation requires selecting the “Add Me to Interested Vendors” button on the posting.
