Full Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is conducting market research to identify alternative sources that (a) are capable of meeting NIST’s minimum requirements for the following commercial products and (b) would be interested in competing for that requirement:

The Contractor shall provide one Microwave Induced Combustion (MIC) Package which meets the minimum requirements identified below.

Technical Specifications: The contractor shall provide one (1) MIC package that includes parts that meet the specifications below:

  • Full compatibility with existing Multiwave 5000 Digester system
  • Rotor capable of operating at high temperatures (up to 300 °C) and high pressure (up to 80 bar) for digestion of samples for evaluation via ion chromatography and other methods
  • Parts allowing for the connection of the new rotor with the Multiwave 5000 digester system.

NIST has not yet determined its acquisition strategy for this requirement and encourages interested sources to respond to this Notice.

If NIST’s market research indicates there are alternative sources that are capable and interested in competing to fill this requirement, separate and apart from Anton Paar (UEI: ZJHWKPABDQT6) then NIST will consider conducting a competitive acquisition in accordance with law and regulation. To be clear, NIST’s identification of Anton Paar in this Notice does not constitute a binding commitment or obligation for it to conduct a sole source procurement with Anton Paar for this requirement.
