The U.S. Army's Aberdeen Installation Contracting Division plans to negotiate a sole source contract with Honeygo Run Reclamation Center for the disposal of construction and demolition (C&D) debris. This vendor has been approved by the APG Environmental office as having the necessary controls to prevent future environmental contamination, making it the only authorized landfill site in close proximity to the installation for such material disposal. The contract falls under the NAICS code 562212, which pertains to waste treatment and disposal services, with a size standard of $12.5 million. This intent to award sole source contract is not a solicitation for competitive proposals but allows interested parties to express their interest in writing by a specified deadline of June 4, 2009. The contracting point of contact is Mary Ann Sadler, a purchasing agent at Aberdeen Proving Ground, who can be reached via email. The action ensures compliance with FAR 6.302-1, justifying the sole source negotiation due to the unique qualifications of Honeygo Run Reclamation Center and its importance to the installation’s environmental safety.
