Sac Valley ITS

The California Department of Transportation, District 2 in Redding, is preparing to upgrade or replace key elements of the Transportation Management System along State Routes 5, 36, 44, and 299 in Shasta, Trinity, and Tehama counties, with work spanning various post miles across these corridors. This initiative, funded by state resources, aims to enhance traffic monitoring, control, and communication infrastructure to improve safety and efficiency on these vital routes. The project is forecasted to be solicited in June 2026 and is being managed by Caltrans with direct oversight from Julie McFall, Senior Environmental Scientist, who serves as the primary point of contact for inquiries and coordination. All work will take place within California, specifically targeting the designated state highway segments in the named counties.
