Safe Streets for All (SS4A) Phase 1

The City of Charlotte is initiating the Safe Streets for All (SS4A) Phase 1 project aimed at advancing Vision Zero strategies to reduce risky behaviors and pedestrian-involved crashes, particularly at intersections. This effort involves a series of infrastructure improvements such as installing rectangular rapid flashing pedestrian beacons, upgrading accessible pedestrian signals and lead pedestrian interval signals, as well as constructing concrete curb ramps, sidewalks, curbs and gutters, islands, pedestrian refuges, and pavement markings. The goal is to enhance pedestrian safety and promote safer street environments through these targeted enhancements. This solicitation, identified by number 269-269-2026-245, is open for bids which must be submitted via the Bonfire Portal by July 7, 2026.
