San Bernardino Workforce Development Center

The San Bernardino Community College District is initiating the construction of the San Bernardino Workforce Development Center located at 114 South Del Rosa Drive in San Bernardino, California. This project involves the development of a 2,520 square foot workforce training building and a 900 square foot outdoor yard on a 0.32 acre site. Additional site improvements include 2,700 square feet of new concrete pavement and walkways, 6 foot concrete masonry unit walls with a gate, minimal landscaping, and necessary utility connections. The facility is designed to house standard and specialized equipment to provide hands-on training for in-demand occupational skills within the Inland Empire. The project has been granted a categorical exemption from the California Environmental Quality Act under Section 15332. Supporting documentation includes a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment which identified no recognized environmental conditions or historical recognized environmental conditions at the site. Technical evaluations have also been completed regarding biological resources and air quality, including greenhouse gas emissions modeling for both the construction and operational phases. The project is managed by the San Bernardino Community College District with Steve Sutorus serving as the primary point of contact.
