The State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) is funding the Project referred to internally as Scott River Headwaters Property Land Back, Protection. The Project includes the acquisition of 39,686-acres of land in the Scott River Watershed necessary for the implementation of the following management measures aligned with the State Water Board’s Nonpoint Source Management Plan: ·Develop a Nonpoint Source Management Plan; ·Develop a Property Management Plan; ·Accomplish one of the following: ·Reduce commercial timber harvesting; ·Preserve shade providing vegetation on water bodies and minimize activities that suppress growth of vegetation to reduce elevated water temperatures; and ·Reduce sediment waste discharges through land protection and restoration activities.
