SEA OTTER & PIKE Drydock Repairs

The U.S. Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set aside an acquisition for HUBZone concerns, Service-Disabled Veteran-owned Small Business concerns (SDVOSB), or for Small Businesses. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees. The NAICS Code is 336611. The acquisition is for DRYDOCK repairs to the USCGC SEA OTTER (WPB-87362) and USCGC PIKE (87365) both 87' patrol boat cutters. All work will be done at the Contractor's certified facility. This contract is geographically restricted to the United States West Cost San Francisco Bay and South. The performance periods will be as follows: (1) USCGC SEA OTTER forty-four (44) calendar days with a start date on or about 06 July 2011 through 19 August 2011; (2) USCGC PIKE forty-four (44) calendar days with a start date on or about 24 August 2011 through 07 October 2011. The scope of the acquisition is for the drydock & repairs to the cutters. The proposed work items include but are not limited to: Modify and preserve the forepeak; Remove, Inspect and Re-install Propulsion Shafts, Propellers and Rudder Assemblies, Preserve main deck surfaces; Preserve Underwater Body 100%; Preserve Freeboard. All welding and brazing shall be accomplished by trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures.
