The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, Charleston (SSC Charleston) is transitioning its contracting process to the NAVSEA SEAPORT Portal as the mandatory vehicle for Engineering, Financial Services, and Program Management contracts. This transition is expected to take place around May to June 2005, with a solicitation anticipated to be released in early February 2005, followed by a 30-day proposal submission window. The solicitation represents the exclusive opportunity for offerors to participate in SEAPORT for SSC Charleston at this time. Offerors with current or past contracts, as well as new interested parties eligible for future business, are strongly encouraged to engage in this process. SSC Charleston will serve as an ordering office post-transition, issuing task orders only to eligible Multiple Award Contract holders who respond to this solicitation and secure awards for the MidAtlantic Zone (Zone 3). It is important to note that SSC Charleston itself is not the contracting office responsible for evaluating proposals or making awards; these roles lie elsewhere within the Navy acquisition structure. Offerors must carefully follow submission instructions, as failure to submit a proposal or receive an award will preclude participation in future task order competitions under SEAPORT at SSC Charleston until new solicitations are issued. Additional resources and documents related to the solicitation and SEAPORT process are available online to support offerors. The primary point of contact for inquiries is Gregory Becker, reachable via commercial phone. This initiative reflects SSC Charleston’s commitment to streamlining acquisition through SEAPORT, enhancing competition and access to contract opportunities for qualified firms.
