The Department of Financial Services, through its Division of Criminal Investigations and Division of State Fire Marshal, intends to enter into a single-source agreement with Securitas Technology Corporation for ongoing security monitoring, periodic maintenance, and software updates for installed security systems at designated locations across Florida, excluding the Florida State Fire College. The scope of work includes continuous surveillance via camera systems, card reader access control with detailed logs of personnel entry, and the specialized recording of vehicle license plates entering the Florida State Fire College campus in Ocala, even though monitoring services are not provided there. The contract also mandates that all software programming, updates, maintenance, and modifications be performed exclusively by Securitas Technology Corporation due to the proprietary nature of their equipment, which no other vendor is authorized or capable of servicing.
