See Canyon Arundo donax Removal Project (Request No. 1652-2026-097-001-R4)

Pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1652, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife has approved the See Canyon Arundo donax Removal Project as submitted by The Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County, represented by Kylie Schubert. The 0.85-acre Project will eradicate giant reed (Arundo donax), a non-native, invasive plant species that outcompetes native species, contributes to streambank erosion, and reduces stream flow. The Project includes: the establishment of temporary staging areas and access paths; trimming and clearing of vegetation; mechanical treatment of giant reed; and chemical treatment of giant reed. The Project does not include any dewatering or diversion of See Canyon Creek, nor the removal of any mature native trees or shrubs.
