SENSING ELEMENT, FIRE DETECTOR SYSTEM

The Government is seeking qualified vendors capable of manufacturing the Sensing Element, Fire Detector System, NSN 6340-01-317-1209, currently produced by Meggitt Safety Systems, Inc. under part number 3800-02. This is a market research effort to identify potential sources with the technical expertise, financial resources, and logistical capabilities to fully manufacture the item, including sourcing components, performing inspections and testing, ensuring proper preservation and packaging, and managing shipping and supply chain challenges such as long-lead parts, diminishing manufacturing sources, and material shortages. The estimated annual requirement is 40 units, and the procurement falls under NAICS code 334511. No solicitation is active at this time; this notice is purely informational and aims to build a pool of qualified vendors for future competition, with no financial obligation on the part of the Government for responses submitted. Interested parties must submit their capability information by July 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time to Renee Griffin at renee.griffin@dla.mil. The Department of Defense, through DLA Aviation in Richmond, Virginia, will evaluate submissions based on a vendor's ability to meet program schedules, control costs, manage performance metrics, retain key personnel, mitigate risks, and deliver under a performance-based acquisition framework. Responses will inform the Government’s decision on the best procurement method for the next acquisition cycle. There is no current contract award, and submission of information does not guarantee future contract opportunities.
