The project involves the comprehensive redesign and expansion of the psychiatric emergency unit at the Jewish General Hospital’s Pavilion K to address critical shortcomings in current infrastructure. The existing facility is inadequate to handle the high volume of patients in crisis, posing significant safety risks to both staff and patients due to poor visibility from the monitoring station, lack of secure zoning, and insufficient space for diverse clinical needs. The upgrade seeks to create a secure, compassionate, and efficiently organized environment capable of delivering timely and effective care to a wide range of psychiatric emergencies. This initiative is driven by the necessity to improve operational safety, enhance patient outcomes, and align physical design with modern standards for psychiatric emergency care. The solicitation, issued by the CIUSSS du Centre-ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal under the government of Canada, is categorized under NAICS code 541330 for architectural services and covers three professional service lots: architecture, electromechanical systems, and structural engineering. The tender was posted on June 5, 2026, with a response deadline of July 8, 2026, and is targeted at qualified professionals to deliver integrated design solutions for the facility upgrade. Contracting authority is Herve Chotard, reachable via phone and email for inquiries. The work is to be performed in Montreal, with no set-aside provisions indicated, and reflects a federal-level commitment to modernizing critical health infrastructure.
