The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division in Lakehurst, New Jersey, intends to enter into a non-competitive contract with The Brunson Instrument Co., Inc. for the procurement of a Universal Short Range Calibrator and several ancillary items, including an alignment telescope, T-slotted base plate, front surface mirror, and adjustable V-mount base. This equipment is essential for supporting the Royal Australian Air Force F/A-18 aircraft program, specifically for use in two instrument calibration procedures. The government is pursuing a sole-source procurement under 10 USC 2304 (c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1 because it lacks the necessary data, drawings, or specifications to allow for full and open competition. While the government intends to negotiate with Brunson Instrument Co., it is inviting other responsible sources to submit written proposals within 15 days of the notice to determine if a competitive procurement is warranted.
