The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) intends to enter into a single source contract with Honeywell for the procurement and service of exterior cameras compatible with their existing Honeywell access control and video management systems. The contract, valued at a maximum of $97,089.20, is designated for the FY 2024-2025 period and is not a competitive bidding process but a notice of an intended sole-source acquisition. The existing systems are proprietary Honeywell products, with software, programming, and technical support exclusively maintained by Honeywell personnel. Only Honeywell-trained technicians are qualified to modify, service, or update these systems, which were originally installed by certified Honeywell technicians. This exclusivity is justified by the proprietary nature of the systems, the specialized training required, and the access Honeywell has to technical resources, ensuring system integrity and security. The procurement process emphasizes that Honeywell is the sole provider capable of delivering the necessary services and parts due to their unique expertise and authorized personnel. The contract aims to ensure continued system support and integration for FSDB’s security infrastructure. Interested parties are encouraged to direct questions via email to Leigh Gillette, the designated Purchasing Analyst, with the response deadline set for September 3, 2024. The solicitation is registered under NAICS code 423430, reflecting the nature of the equipment and services involved, and the contract is managed by FSDB, a State and Local Government Entity in Florida.
