The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) is hosting an informational event titled "Small Business Relevance to the Industrial Base Meet and Greet" on September 5, 2018, in California, Maryland. This event, led by NAVAIR's Office of Small Business Programs (OSBP) in collaboration with The Patuxent Partnership (TPP), aims to communicate the Commander's Intent and highlight the importance of small businesses to the defense industrial base. Geurts, along with NAVAIR leadership, who will share their perspectives on small business engagement. The formal program will run from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM with a morning session for presentations and a separate afternoon segment dedicated to Business Matchmaking appointments, allowing small businesses to engage directly with NAVAIR, PTAC, TEDCO, SBDC, OSBP, and industry representatives in 15-minute meetings. Participation in the event is strictly informational, with no solicitation or contract obligations implied, and no entitlement to costs or changes arising from attendance. Due to venue constraints, only two representatives are allowed per matchmaking appointment, with no Wi-Fi or electrical power in the meeting rooms, so attendees should bring printed materials only. Attendees must present identification at check-in, which begins at 7:15 AM Eastern Time at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center (SMHEC). Advance submission of questions for the NAVAIR panel is encouraged, and specific points of contact are provided for matchmaking and general event inquiries to facilitate participation and ensure a productive small business engagement.
