THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE. THIS NOTICE IS ISSUED FOR MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION OR INVITATION FOR OFFERORS TO SUBMIT BIDS. A SYNOPIS OF PROPOSED CONTRACT ACTION MAY BE POSTED AT A LATER DATE WHICH WILL PROVIDE INSTRUCTIONS FOR BIDDERS TO RESPOND TO THIS OPPORTUNITY. Please only respond to this sources sought notice if you are interested in submitting a bid and capable of performing the work required to complete the project. The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) anticipates the need for a firm-fixed-price contract for a project entitled Smoke Stack Demolition at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Milan. FCI Milan is a federal correctional institution located at 4004 East Arkona Road, Milan, Michigan 48160. The following brief synopsis should not be considered inclusive of work required to complete the project. The project consists of the demolition of an existing masonry smoke stack approximately 122 feet tall. Specifically, the contractor will be required to begin demolition at the top of the structure and proceed to the lowest level, conveying debris to grade level in a controlled manner; demolish structure above each floor level before damaging supporting members on lower levers; remove debris and demolition equipment so as not to impose excessive loads on the remaining structure during demolition; remove underground utilities back to points of termination; remove debris from the institution; and salvage items as instructed by the BOP. The performance period for the project will be 32 calendar days from issuance of the notice to proceed. Pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 36.204, the estimated magnitude of the project lies between $100,000 and $250,000. (NOTE: This range is one of 8 available ranges from FAR 36.204 and is not meant to imply that the project has necessarily been estimated/budgeted to the maximum of the selected range. It merely conveys that the estimate/budget lies somewhere within that range.) The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code applicable to this requirement is 237110 with a corresponding small business size standard of $15 million. Interested parties must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) at www.sam.gov. The BOP is seeking small business contractors for this project.
