The Snipes Park Booster Station Upgrades and Lake Norconian Flow Control Station Replacement Project (the Project) includes two components: The Snipes Park Booster Station Upgrades and the Lake Norconian Flow Control Station Replacement. The Snipes Park Booster Station Upgrades are generally an upgrade of an existing reclaimed water booster pump station and reservoir site for improved system reliability and site access, as well as reduced maintenance. The existing 15,000-gallon fiberglass above grade reservoir will not be modified as part of this project. The existing booster pump station will be upgraded and currently includes a two-pump packaged booster station with controls, fiberglass enclosure, and above and below grade piping. The site includes perimeter fencing, asphalt pavement driveway and parking area, maintenance lighting, and electrical distribution panels. The upgrade work will include constructing a hydropneumatic tank with appurtenances, foundation, and associated piping; upgrading two existing pumps in the existing packaged booster station; control upgrades; and site improvements, including a 2-foot high retaining wall, replacing the tubular steel fencing/gate in-kind, curb and gutter, resurfacing approximately 2,200 square feet of existing pavement, and placing approximately 500 square feet of new pavement. The Lake Norconian Flow Control Station (FCS) Replacement includes replacing the existing manually-operated flow control valve that allows the City to deliver water to the US Navy-operated Lake Norconian with a new telemetry-operated flow control station, which will improve system operation by allowing remote telemetry control of the flow control valve, as well as improve access for maintenance. The work includes demolishing the existing below grade manually-operated hydraulic control valve and vault, and replacing it with a new above grade FCS including a solar power system, electronically-operated hydraulic control valve, telemetry controls, piping, isolation valves, sun shade, site fencing, and concrete slab on grade. The total concrete area is approximately 80 square feet. The Project will benefit the public.
