Notice of Proposed Procurement For Snow Removal Services, St Lewis, NLThis requirement is for Fisheries and Oceans Canada.OBJECTIVES OF THE REQUIREMENT1. Scope of WorkThe Contractor shall furnish all necessary labour, material and equipment to provide snow removal and ice control at:Department of Fisheries & OceansP.O. Box 105St. Lewis, NL A0K 4W02.Work IncludedRemove snow and ice, from parking and manual shoveling of walkways and entrances.Snow clearing operations will commence when 50mm of snow has accumulated, when drifting necessitates such action and/or when deemed necessary by the Departmental Representative.Provide regular inspections of the premise to ensure that snow and de-icing activities are undertaken in a timely manner and to prevent the formation of hazardous snow or ice conditions.The contractor shall supply an unit price for the following :Snow clearing using of Heavy Equipment (ie. backhoe or front-end loader complete with bucket) will be measured by the hour.Manual shoveling of all entrances and building exits (minimum 2 meter width clearance) etc will be measured by the hour.All work is to include requirement for the contractor’s personnel.The Contractor shall provide service during regular working hours, silent hours and weekends.Contractor is totally responsible for the immediate removal of snow and ice to ensure the safety of the public and the unhindered flow of vehicular traffic.The Contractor shall advise the Departmental Representative of the telephone number at which he/she on his/her representative may be contacted at any time.The Contractor shall not refuse any call for service requested by a Departmental Representative and the time lapse between call out and start of work shall not exceed one (1) hour.The Contractor will be notified on award of Contract, the name and phone number of the Departments Representative.SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:There is no security requirement associated with this bid solicitationPERIOD OF CONTRACT:The period of contract shall be from date of award to December 31, 2023.
