Solicitation 122B4618Q0050 is a total small business set-aside contract for the construction of a Soil Health Trailer designed for public education on soil health, erosion, and watershed protection. The trailer will feature education stations on three sides, including swing-out doors with interchangeable information panels and two table storage areas on each side. A key component of the build is the integration of a rainfall simulator, provided by the NRCS, which will be mounted on rails to slide into the trailer when not in use. To support the simulator's functionality, the vendor must install a protective canopy to shield the demonstration from wind and provide shade for viewers. Additionally, a pull-down banner will be incorporated to conceal the trailer interior during demonstrations. This project falls under NAICS code 336212 and was managed by Contracting Officer Scott A. Full Description

This trailer will be used to demonstrate and educate the public on the importance of soil health. This will be done through education stations on three sides of the trailer which will be utilized for specific purposes. The back of the trailer will house the Rainfall Simulator (see attached pictures in attachment three (3). The rainfall simulator has already been purchased by NRCS and awaiting incorporation into the trailer. NRCS will get said simulator to awarded vendor. The simulator will demonstrate different soil conditions and how rainfall affects them as far as erosion and permeability. The trailer will have swing out doors on each side that will have interchangeable panels providing information about erosion and how cover crops and residue will protect the soil from erosion and preventing sediment from entering the watershed. There will be a canopy over this to protect the simulator from windy conditions as well as provide a shaded demonstration to improve viewability. When not in use the rainfall simulator will slide on rails back into the trailer (see attachment 3). There will be two table storage areas on each side. When the rainfall simulator is in use a pull-down banner will be used to hide the inside of the trailer to provide an educational view of the soil health demonstration.
