AI Contract Overview
Broward County Transportation Department is seeking to determine whether the Allison Premium Diagnostic Optimized Connection (DOC) software licenses are available from multiple sources or if they should be designated as a sole brand. This RFI is not a solicitation for pricing or purchase but aims to identify qualified vendors capable of providing this specific diagnostic software, which is essential for maintaining Allison transmissions on transit buses. The county currently considers the OEM product or authorized distributors as the reasonable sources, and vendors are encouraged to submit documentation demonstrating their ability to meet or exceed the product specifications, including comparable alternatives. The process involves a public notice period during which interested vendors can submit their information and supporting documentation through Periscope S2G, with the final decision made solely by the Director of Purchasing. If no other qualified sources are identified, the county may proceed to award the contract to the designated vendor without further competition. The contract is open-ended, with an estimated value between $50,000 and $200,000, and the response deadline is September 4, 2024.
