Sole Source Notice - Hard Drive Degausser and Destroyer

The Fleet Logistics Center Norfolk, Contracting Department, Philadelphia, intends to solicit on a sole source basis with Data Security, Inc. of Lincoln, NE to provide the Director Operations and Plans (OPNAV N31) Detachment Raven Rock Mountain Complex a hard drive degausser, hard drive destroyer, and cart. The hard drive degausser and destroyer must be listed on the National Security Agency (NSA) Evaluated Products List. They must also operate without the need for electrical power or the requirement to disassemble the hard drive prior to destruction in order to provide an emergency destruction capability of classified hard drives in all scenarios. The Navy intends to solicit for a Firm, Fixed Price type order. This procurement is a sole source acquisition with Data Security, Inc., under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS. The applicable NAICS code for this requirement is 423430. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 10 August 2015. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future.
