Full Description

The Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Office of Professional Responsiblity, Technical Operations Group has a sole source requirement for a Forensic Recovery of Evidence Data Center (FREDC). A search of the Internet did not produce any open-market providers. No vendors were found on GSA. This is a highly specialized and customized piece of computer equipment made by only one company, Digital Intelligence. This system is comprised of the FREDC Forensic File Server Module, a Recovery of Evidence Device Module, a retractable keyboard and 19 inch LCD Display Module, a KVA UPS Module, an Ethernet Switch Module and a FREDC RAID Array Module. Also included is an 8TB RAID Array Module, a DLT Robotic Tape Library, Rackmount Network Switch, Rackmount Network Patch Panel, and a KVM over IP Remote Access Module. This system is currently in use by other Federal agencies and law enforcement entities. It would be highly desirable and cost effective to maintain continuity of equipment within Government agencies. The attached Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition more fully explains the details of this equipment and why it is being considered a sole source procurement. This notice is being posted in accordance with FAR 5.101(a)(1).
