The City of Fort Myers issued a sole source notice on May 2, 2025, with the intent to procure a spare blower, motors, and ceramic bearings necessary to initiate preventive maintenance rebuilds of its pontoon aerator system. This procurement is designated as a non-competitive, sole source acquisition under Florida State Statute 287.057(3)(c), based on the determination that Newterra Corporation, Inc. is the exclusive supplier capable of providing the required specialized equipment. The notice serves primarily as an official public disclosure and an invitation to any other potential suppliers to submit product information and qualifications by May 16, 2025, should they believe they can supply equivalent products. However, no formal proposals, bids, or quotes are solicited, and this process employs a “NO VALUE” procurement method that eliminates the need for competitive evaluation or pricing analysis. The procurement documentation does not provide detailed technical specifications, pricing details, contract terms, or delivery schedules beyond the general requirement for components compatible with the existing aerator system. The City of Fort Myers’ Purchasing Agent, Rose Theriot, serves as the primary contact for this procurement. Interested suppliers must submit qualifications solely via email within the 15-day public notice period. No standard federal acquisition clauses, payment instructions, or formal contract administration data are included in this notice. The award will be made without competition unless another capable source comes forward within the prescribed timeframe, ensuring transparency while adhering to state law provisions for sole source acquisitions.

General Info

City of Fort Myers seeks sole source supplier Newterra for pontoon aerator maintenance parts, deadline May 16.
