N00164-18-Q-0194 - SOLE SOURCE -ULTRA-FAST DIODES- FSG 5961 - NAICS 334413 ISSUE DATE 06 MAR 2018 - CLOSING DATE 12 MAR 2018 - 12:00 PM Eastern Time ITEM DESCRIPTION- Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane has a requirement for: 80953004 Rectifier, (Diode) Qty. 200 Group A Testing Qty. 1 PIND Testing Qty. 1 Group B Testing Qty. 1 Group B Destructs Qty. 1 Group C Testing Qty. 1 Group C Destructs Qty. 1 QCI Data Qty. 1 SHIPPING CHARGES The proposed contract action is for the supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source, Solid State Devices Inc. (SSDI), 14701 Firestone Blvd. La Mirada, CA 90638, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(B). This is being sole sourced because this company is one of the respected companies manufacturing custom, high performance semiconductors. No other manufacturer has ever built these diodes. The diodes were installed in the A2 modules within the HVPS and subjected to HVPS certification testing to verify the diodes operated properly when installed in the HVPS. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement which shall be considered by the agency. However, a determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this solicitation is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Contractors must be properly registered in the System for Award Management (SAM).
