This sole-source procurement, issued by the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division under solicitation N0017822RC617, is for the acquisition of two Solid State Modulator (SSM) units from High Voltage Outsourcing. The order consists of one First Generation 90kV-200A, 3uSec/75Hz SSM and one Final Generation unit of the same specifications. The Final Generation unit is a redesigned and optimized version of the first, specifically engineered for final integration with a magnetron. The technical requirements for these laboratory prototypes include a 90kV solid-state switch, a high voltage capacitor charger, and an integrated heater supply. The contract includes comprehensive site support at NSWC-Dahlgren or another designated location, totaling one week of assistance for each unit. Support for the First Generation SSM is divided into two separate visits to demonstrate operation on a real magnetron at 60kV-100A and on a resistive load at 90kV-200A. Similar site support is provided for the Final Generation unit to ensure successful integration. This award was processed under FAR Part 13.5 using the Lowest Price Technically Acceptable evaluation method.
