The U.S. Army Contracting Command – Detroit is conducting market research through a Request for Information (RFI) to gather data from potential vendors regarding the commercial availability and manufacturing capabilities for the Miller Syncrowave 400 welder and Miller XMT 350 CC/CV welder, along with the Miller suitcase feeder. This RFI, identified by solicitation number W56HZV26R0042, is strictly for acquisition planning and does not constitute a solicitation for proposals or a commitment to award a contract. Vendors are invited to submit information on their ability to supply these specific welding units, which must meet detailed technical specifications including multi-process welding capabilities such as MIG, TIG, Stick, flux-cored, and carbon arc cutting, along with compatible input voltage ranges and output amperage ratings. The equipment must align with NAICS code 333992 and respond to requirements for commercial availability, manufacturing expertise, delivery timelines, and place of performance. All responses must come from firms with a valid System for Award Management (SAM) registration, including an active CAGE code and Unique Entity Identifier. Respondents are required to declare their business size status as small or other than small, with service-disabled veteran-owned small business status being a key consideration due to the total small business set-aside under FAR 19.5. Submissions must include company contact details, summaries of prior relevant contracts or production experience, and an assessment of the appropriateness of the assigned NAICS code. The Government will not reimburse any costs associated with preparing responses. Responses must be submitted via email to Justine Broughton by 11:00 AM EST on May 20, 2026, and may include product literature and illustrations to support claims of capability. No formal evaluation factors, contract clauses, inspection protocols, packaging requirements, or pricing data are included, as this is a pre-solicitation effort solely intended to inform future acquisition decisions.
