The Department of Defense, through the Army Contracting Command – Detroit (ACC-DTA), has issued a Request for Information (RFI), solicitation number W56HZV26R0042, to conduct market research regarding the procurement of Miller welding equipment. Specifically, the Government is seeking input on the Miller Syncrowave 400 Welder (p/n 951831) and the Miller XMT 350 CC/CV Welder (p/n 907161), as well as an accessory, the Miller suitcase feeder (p/n 951580). These welders support multiple welding processes including MIG, Stick, TIG (AC, DC, Pulsed), Flux-cored, and air carbon arc cutting, with power input requirements ranging from 208 to 575 volts. The objective of this RFI is to gather information to assist the Government’s future acquisition planning and to ascertain industry capability, qualifications, and interest, particularly targeting small businesses under NAICS code 333992 and set aside as a Total Small Business opportunity under FAR 19.5. This RFI is not a solicitation and will not result in contract award or payment for information submitted. Interested firms are asked to provide details including company information, DUNS and CAGE codes with SAM registration verification, business size and socioeconomic status, commercial availability of the equipment, manufacturing expertise, delivery capabilities including lead times, and place and period of performance. Past relevant contract experience should be cited with contract references and points of contact. Responses must be sent via email to Justine Broughton, the Contract Specialist at ACC-DTA, by May 20, 2026, at 11:00 AM EST. The solicitation package contains no formal FAR clauses, contract clauses, or evaluation factors as it serves solely as a market research tool to inform future solicitation development. The designated place of performance and contracting office location is Warren, Michigan. No pricing, contractual terms, or delivery conditions are specified, reflecting the preliminary nature of this RFI in the acquisition cycle.
