Full Description

DLA Disposition Services seeks sources with the capability and interest to provide specific services consisting of draining and purging a variety of military vehicles and equipment of assorted fluids, refrigerants, removing batteries, and containerizing waste fluids and batteries as appropriate. Services may also include compliant disposal of removed refrigerants, though disposal of waste fluids and batteries would be part of other existing contracts. The services under this possible action, however, could also include analysis of certain removed fluids for waste characterization. Examples of the items to be serviced are included in the attachment to this announcement, and the possible locations requiring service are also attached. It is anticipated that interested firms may not necessarily have the capability to service all sites, but at a minimum it is expected that any subsequent contract(s) would be organized to provide coverage to different geographic areas consisting of the sites within that area, such as several states in a region. Also, it is anticipated that services at the sites would be on an as-needed, intermittent basis, which will not likely amount to a large number of service hours at any single site within, for example, an annual period. Estimates thus far do not indicate that any specific single site would need more than 80 hours of service annually. The corresponding NAICs code is 811310, with possible set-aside aspects of any resulting procurement action(s) to be determined in part based upon responses to this sources sought announcement. Firms with the capability and interest to provide the services are encouraged to submit a brief indication of such, to the point of contact within this announcement, by close of business on 30 Nov 2010. In addition to a brief summary of your capability to provide the services, please include any/all socioeconomic designation(s) applicable to your firm when responding to this sources sought announcement. Questions/clarifications may be referred to the point of contact.
