Sources Sought: Long Range Standoff Production

The U.S. Air Force, through the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, is conducting market research to identify industry capabilities for the production and sustainment of the Long Range Standoff (LRSO) Weapon System, covering multiple production lots. This sources-sought notice seeks detailed capabilities statements from industry to inform future procurement decisions and does not constitute a solicitation, request for proposals, or offer to award a contract. Responses must be submitted electronically by 4:00 P.M. CDT on June 10, 2026, to the designated points of contact, Alyssa Hurst and Lexus Ivy, using a subject line of “LRSO Production Capabilities” and must be no longer than 15 pages in approved formats such as .pdf, .doc, .docx, .xlsx, or .xls. Attachments in .zip or .exe formats are prohibited and will be discarded. The effort requires contractors to demonstrate their ability to deliver the LRSO nuclear cruise missile hardware and software, along with associated equipment including telemetry kits, trainers, simulators, containers, technical data, sustainment infrastructure, repair capabilities, obsolescence management, aircraft integration, and comprehensive logistics and program support. All potential respondents must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and must disclose their size relative to the 1,300-person NAICS code 336414 size standard, as well as their socio-economic status, including eligibility as a small business, 8(a), HUBZone, EDWOSB, WOSB, or SDVOSB entity. Foreign-owned or foreign-controlled firms must also indicate their status and any planned use of foreign national employees. If a future solicitation is set aside for small businesses, the prime contractor must perform at least 50% of the work. The place of performance is designated as Goulds, Florida, and the procuring activity is based at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. No contract value is available at this stage, and no formal evaluation criteria or contract clauses exist, as this is purely a market research instrument to gauge industry readiness for a major defense production initiative.
