The USDA Agricultural Research Service is conducting market research to identify qualified domestic suppliers capable of providing a large-format latex print/cut machine with white latex ink capability, sized for 64-inch wide prints, along with a comprehensive support package. This notice, issued under FAR Part 5.2, is not a solicitation and does not obligate the government to make an award or compensate respondents; its sole purpose is to determine the availability and capability of domestic sources. Respondents must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and are required to submit a capabilities statement detailing their expertise, experience, business certifications—such as Small Business, HUBZone, 8(a), SDVOSB, or WOSB—and the country of origin for the equipment. The machine must meet strict technical requirements, including white latex ink (not UV ink), odorless water-based inks, an anti-scratch overcoat cartridge, user-replaceable printheads, 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution, built-in storage of at least 10 GB, and compatibility with Adobe software, all backed by a one-year hardware warranty. Delivery is anticipated within thirty days of any future award to the National Centers for Animal Health in Ames, Iowa, with installation to be performed exclusively by factory-trained engineers. Response deadline is July 6, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. EDT, and any future solicitation is expected to be released on or after July 13, 2026, posted exclusively on SAM.gov. The procurement is intended for a total small business set-aside, and all responses must include verification of small business status. Security protocols require that technicians submit a government-issued photo ID at least one week prior to installation, and all access to the facility is contingent on compliance. No contract clauses, evaluation factors, pricing, or packaging requirements are included in this notice, as it is strictly a pre-solicitation market research tool to inform the government’s acquisition strategy.
