The Department of the Air Force has issued a Sources Sought Synopsis to identify potential suppliers capable of providing the F-16 C Model Fuel Cells, specifically NSN 1560013229987WF, which are used as onboard fuel tanks for the aircraft. This notice is for market research purposes to determine if responsible sources, including small businesses and various small business programs such as 8(a), HUBZone, and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, exist that can meet the government's needs. The government is particularly interested in vendors who currently have these fuel cells in stock or can deliver them within seven days of order receipt, with a quantity of six units required. Respondents are asked to provide business details, including company information, small business status, and capabilities related to availability, delivery timelines, and warranty provisions. The solicitation emphasizes that this is not a formal request for proposals but a preliminary step to assess the market's capacity to fulfill the requirement. Interested parties must submit their responses by October 16, 2024, via email to designated points of contact. The government will use this information to determine the most appropriate acquisition strategy, including whether the effort can be set aside for small businesses or awarded through a competitive process. The procurement will be conducted at Hill Air Force Base in Utah, under NAICS code 336413, which pertains to other aircraft parts and auxiliary equipment manufacturing.
