Southwest Juvenile Hall (SJH) Flooring and Casework Project

The Southwest Juvenile Hall (SJH) Flooring and Casework Project, identified by project number FM08250013745, is a Riverside County Facilities Management initiative located at 30755 Auld Road in Murrieta, California. The project is designed to address critical water intrusion issues within the Housing and Intake Units of the detention and post-conviction center for minors, which pose risks of structural damage and mold growth. The scope of work involves extensive flooring and casework replacements, including replacing ceramic tile and cove basis with epoxy-based material in seven showers at the Housing Unit and one shower at the Intake Unit, replacing vinyl flooring with a sealed concrete finish at the Main Intake Unit, and preparing and resealing the flooring within the holding cells. Additionally, the project includes replacing base cabinet boxes along the exterior wall and replacing existing countertops within the Intake Unit. This project has been granted a Notice of Exemption from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) under Sections 15301 and 15061(b)(3), as it consists of minor interior alterations that do not result in significant environmental impacts or a significant expansion of the facility's existing use. The facility will continue to provide essential public services, including medical and behavioral health counseling, throughout the project duration.
