The Defense Logistics Agency at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is conducting market research to identify potential suppliers for a control assembly, NSN 1680-01-549-4959, part number 145ES010-8, used in the CHINOOK weapon system. This effort is not a solicitation and no funding is available for responses. The North American Industry Classification System code 314910 applies, with a size standard of 500 employees, and the acquisition is currently restricted to a single qualified source under FAR 6.302-1(a)(1) due to the unavailability of government-owned data rights and the economic impracticality of reverse engineering the part. While no competition is imminent, the government encourages all eligible businesses, including 8(a), small business, small disadvantaged business, service-disabled veteran-owned, hubzone, and women-owned small businesses, to self-identify as potential sources. Firms must meet prequalification criteria and assume full responsibility for the engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, obsolescence management, and all related costs to become an approved supplier. Participation requires voluntary submission of information through the Army Aviation and Missile Command’s public website. No contract award is guaranteed, and this announcement serves only as informational planning with no legal obligation from the government.
