Notice of Intent to Sole Source for Maintenance Service and License (SS-NIH-6239411) The National Institutes of Health intends to award a Firm-Fixed-Price purchase order to Iwaki America, Inc., 330 Hopping Brook Rd, Holliston, MA, 01746. In accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1, the Contractor is the only known responsible source who can provide the specific preventive maintenance as no other source has been identified who can provide the requirement listed below. The National Institutes of Health, National Eye Institute has a requirement to replace Pentair controllers for aquatic holding systems in a central animal facility and intends to purchase IWAKI WALCHEM Intuition-9 controllers as replacements. Pentair, which is now IWAKI America, Inc., designed the current aquatic holding systems. The current controllers are over 10 years old and on the verge of failure. A controller is the component that operates and maintains the various components of the aquatic holding systems. As the designer of the aquatic holding systems, it is critical that IWAKI America provide both the product and installation of the controllers for compatibility. The aquatic holding systems are used for maintaining, sustaining, and supporting the aquatic research and animals. IWAKI America, Inc. is the only known company equipped to provide and install compatible controllers. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes. However, any party that believes it can provide the preventive maintenance as stated herein may submit a written capability statement that clearly supports and demonstrates their ability to satisfy the requirement. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed award based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. It is anticipated that an award will be issued approximately five (5) days after the date of this notice unless the Government determines that another organization has the capability to meet this requirement. Please email responses to zetherine.gore@nih.hhs.gov no later than 12:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday, February 2, 2022.

NOI - B2B Award entitled - Developing Red Cell-Sp
Solicitation # 75N98027Q00017
Solicitation 75N98027Q00017 is a combined synopsis and notice of intent for a non-competitive award by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to Purdue University, specifically the Purdue Institute for Drug Discovery. The contract supports the Bench-to-Bedside study Developing Red Cell-Specific Spleen Tyrosine Kinase (SYK) Inhibitors for Treating Sickle Cell Disease. The scope of work for the Year 1 requirement involves the synthesis, scale-up, characterization, and optimization of lead SYK inhibitors S1115 and S1213, with a delivery requirement of approximately 3 to 5 grams of each compound along with supporting analytical and potency data. The award is justified as non-competitive because Purdue University possesses the project-specific knowledge and prior research experience necessary to avoid technical risk and duplication of effort. The acquisition is conducted under FAR 12.603 for commercial items and is not expected to exceed the simplified acquisition threshold. Research activities will be performed at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, with deliverables sent to the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute in Bethesda, Maryland. The associated NAICS code is 325411 for Medicinal and Botanical Manufacturing, and the requirement is not set aside for small businesses. Administrative requirements include active registration in the System for Award Management and the use of the Invoicing Processing Platform for three-way match payments. Responses were due by November 4, 2026, to the contracting specialist, Nicholas Capobianco.

The National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) has issued a Notice of Intent under solicitation 75N98026R00176 to award a non-competitive modification to IDIQ Contract No. 75N92022D00014. The government anticipates issuing the modification around December 2026. While this is a non-competitive intent, interested parties may submit capability statements via email to the contracting officer, Melanie Suarez, or contract specialist, Noelle Decenzo, by November 2, 2026. Submissions must reference the notice number and include details regarding employee count, professional qualifications of technical personnel, available facilities and equipment, and an outline of similar previous research projects.
