The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific (SSC Pacific) plans to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) under its Code 564 Multiple Award Contract (MAC) to acquire surface data terminal systems. These systems will function as communication nodes within a directed-mesh network that links surface and airborne platforms using KU band signals, specifically employing the Bandwidth Efficient Communications Data Link (BE-CDL) waveform Mode 101 at 44 Mbps data rates. The RFP issuance is anticipated around March 19, 2015, and this effort is linked to a previously released Request for Information (RFI) from MIT Lincoln Laboratory concerning an Airborne Compact High Data Rate Radio System. Interested parties are encouraged to explore teaming opportunities with the existing Code 564 MAC prime contractors to enhance their proposals. The prime contractors under this Multiple Award Contract include Booze Allen Hamilton Inc., DRS Technical Services, General Dynamics Information Technology Inc., Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation, and Science Applications International Corporation. Each prime has designated points of contact to facilitate coordination and partnerships. This procurement reflects SSC Pacific’s ongoing commitment to advancing tactical communication capabilities by deploying sophisticated data terminal systems that support high-speed, efficient, and reliable communications across diverse military platforms. The contract will be managed out of San Diego, California, under the Department of Defense’s NIWC Pacific organization.
