Parks Canada is advancing critical infrastructure upgrades at the Thousand Islands National Park Operations Compound through a two-stage procurement process, with this posting marking the second and final stage. The existing electrical system has reached full capacity and must be expanded to support all core operational functions, including Administration, Resource Conservation, Maintenance, and Wardens’ facilities. The planned upgrade aims to ensure uninterrupted service, promote electrification initiatives, and facilitate the installation of EV charging stations, aligning with broader goals to reduce emissions, enhance energy efficiency, and lower long-term operational expenses. Only suppliers who successfully passed the preliminary qualifications stage in Stage One have been invited to submit detailed proposals and financial bids, ensuring a competitive and pre-vetted bidding environment. Sub-contractors are encouraged to register their interest under the “Partner with another business” section to support qualified primary bidders. The solicitation number is 5P468-26-0027/A-001, with responses due by July 9, 2026, and all technical specifications and drawings are available to qualified participants. The contract is being managed by Annik Piché of the Parks Canada Agency, with performance required at the operational site located in Ontario, Canada, outside the National Capital Region.
