Streambed Alteration Agreement No. EPIMS-SHA-56188-R1, Timber Harvesting Plan (THP) 2-24-00179-SHA “Bull Nelson.”

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has issued Lake or Streambed Alteration Agreement No. EPIMS-SHA-56188-R1 in support of Timber Harvesting Plan (THP) 2-24-00179-SHA, known as Bull Nelson. This project involves three specific encroachments located in Shasta County, approximately 3.5 miles northeast of Big Bend, within the Indian Creek planning watershed. The scope of work includes the installation of a temporary crossing on a Class II watercourse and a temporary spittler crossing on both Class I and Class II watercourses. These activities are situated on unnamed tributaries to Snow Slide Creek and Nelson Creek, which flow into the Pit River. The project is governed by the THP certified by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection on September 23, 2025. It must comply with the California Environmental Quality Act and State CEQA Guidelines. A Notice of Determination signed on October 3, 2025, confirms that the project will not result in significant environmental effects, provided that all required mitigation measures are implemented.
