Supply and Delivery of Ammonium Sulfate

The City of Brantford has issued Request for Quotations 2026-82 for the supply and delivery of liquid ammonium sulfate (nominal 20%) for use in potable water chloramination at the Holmedale Water Treatment Plant. The contract is for a one-year term commencing January 1, 2027. The product must be certified to NSF/ANSI/CAN 60, maintain a concentration between 19 and 21 wt%, and have a clear appearance. Deliveries must be made via bulk tanker to the Ammonia Building east tank filling station during standard operating hours, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4 pm, with a 48-hour notice requirement. To prevent salt-out, the vendor must provide insulated transportation to keep the chemical solution above -6 degrees Celsius. Each delivery must be accompanied by a bill of lading, lot identification, and a specific Certificate of Analysis. The vendor is responsible for the chemical until it is safely delivered and accepted by City staff. Evaluation follows a three-stage process focusing on mandatory submission requirements, technical compliance, and pricing, with the top-ranked respondent invited to enter into an agreement. Mandatory insurance requirements include $2 million in automobile liability, $2 million in general liability, and $5 million in environmental impairment liability. Additionally, vendors must provide a WSIB Certificate of Good Standing and adhere to the City's Purchasing Policy Bylaw 83-2025. The final deadline for submissions is September 28, 2026.
