Length 46m CS: 49-02The Ministry of Highways in Saskatchewan is issuing an advance notice for the procurement of a contractor to supply and install two 2,400 mm diameter polymer laminated corrugated steel pipe culverts totaling 46 meters in length along Highway 49, approximately 5.5 kilometers west of its intersection with Highway 8. The work will be completed via open excavation with an anticipated start as early as August 2026 and a mandatory completion date no later than October 1, 2026. The project includes the removal of existing culverts, extensive earth excavation, embankment, and backfilling, along with the placement of granular base course, asphalt concrete, riprap, erosion control blankets, silt fences, and topsoil. While the Ministry will supply the two culverts, the contractor is responsible for providing all additional materials including borrow, geotextiles, and erosion control products. The quantities listed are preliminary estimates and may be adjusted in the final tender documents. Procurement of the culverts is being initiated early to accelerate project timelines, and the tender will feature a compressed advertising period. Bidders must submit a deposit equal to 5% of their total bid and are required to direct all inquiries regarding this advance notice to the specified email with the subject line “H26081-Advance Notice”. The solicitation number is HWY-H26081-APPN, posted on July 15, 2026, with responses due by July 30, 2026. The Ministry reserves the right to cancel or postpone the tender without notice and will not be obligated to award a contract. Post-award, bidders may request a debriefing session by contacting SaskBuilds and Procurement within 30 days of the award notification. All technical specifications, including culvert dimensions and material requirements, are subject to confirmation in the official tender documents, which will be released when available. The point of contact for submissions is the Saskatchewan Public Sector’s SBP Construction team.
