The General Services Administration’s Federal Acquisition Service, specifically the Office of General Supplies and Services, is undertaking a business model transformation aimed at enhancing customer service within the Department of Defense and other federal agencies. This shift involves modernizing supply chain operations by reducing the number of physical distribution centers and expanding direct vendor fulfillment capabilities. Additionally, the retail operations are evolving to focus more on vendor-managed inventory instead of GSA-owned stock, allowing for more efficient order management and inventory control globally. The initiative, initially known as "Supply Chain Modernization," has been renamed "Order Management Services" and reflects GSA’s commitment to adapting to changing market conditions and technology advancements. To ensure a fair and transparent process, all market research related to this requirement will be conducted exclusively through the GWAC Alliant Contracting Vehicle. An upcoming Request for Information (RFI) and Draft Statement of Objectives (SOO) are planned for release in early August, providing industry participants an opportunity to submit questions and feedback. There may also be an industry day allowing Alliant GWAC contract holders to engage directly with the technical team. Until the RFI is published, government employees and contractors are restricted from discussing the requirement, ensuring equal access to information for all potential offerors. The contracting officer for this effort is Susan Humann, but inquiries about the Alliant contract vehicle should be directed to the official website. GSA encourages all qualified contractors within the Alliant GWAC community to prepare for active participation and competition in support of this important modernization effort.

The Federal Acquisition Service (FAS), Office of General Supplies and Services (GSS), within the General Services Administration (GSA), provides goods and services to its customers in the Department of Defense and Federal agencies around the world. Throughout the past year FAS has been performing market research on a requirement first known as "Supply Chain Modernization" , but has been changed to "Order Management Services". GSS is undertaking a change in its business model to more effectively serve its customers, reducing the footprint of its distribution centers while expanding direct vendor fulfillment of customer orders. GSS' retail operation is also evolving-transitioning to more vendor-managed inventory, rather than GSA-owned stock on the shelves of its retail outlets around the world. In order to give all companies a fair opportunity this notice is being published to make everyone aware that all Market Research will be conducted through the GWAC Alliant Contracting Vehicle. It is anticipated that a Request for Information (RFI) and Draft Statement of Objectives (SOO) will be released under the GWAC Alliant sometime in the beginning of August. At that time we will allow industry to address questions, answer and comments. In addition, we may hold an industry day to any Alliant GWAC Contract holders to meet face to face with the technical team in order to continue market research. All Government employees have been notified that they will not be able to discuss this issue with any potential companies at this time. All contractors are notified that they shall wait for the RFI to become available to address any discussions at that time. All discussion questions or information will be made available in order for all companies to receive the information and have the same advantage. GSA looks forward to the competition and hope that all Alliant GWAC contract holders with the capabilities and innovation will participate. You can obtain Alliant GWAC information at www.gsa.gov/alliant. The Contracting Officer assigned to this potential requirement is Susan Humann, susan.humann@gsa.gov, Phone Number 228-813-3336. Solicitation # 4618-20260930092701
The Hattiesburg Clinic is seeking a full one-for-one refresh of its perimeter defense through solicitation 4618-20260930092701. The project requires the replacement of four end-of-life next-generation firewall (NGFW) appliances with two high-availability (HA) pairs, featuring redundant AC power supplies. One HA pair will be deployed at the Support Services campus and the other at the Orthopaedics campus in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The solution must support core security functions including IDS/IPS, web/URL content filtering, LAN-to-LAN IPSec VPN tunneling, and User-ID/Active Directory integration. Submission requirements include a technical narrative, itemized pricing, a detailed implementation plan, and at least one reference customer of comparable size. Additionally, bidders must provide a signed and notarized Affidavit of Non-Collusion and an MBE/WBE vendor status disclosure if applicable.
