T15 Upper Feather River Dams Fault Exploration, Indian Creek Fault (ICF)

The project aims to assess historical tectonic activity along the Indian Creek Fault to determine its potential impact on the safety of dams at Antelope Lake. To achieve this, a trench will be excavated at the fault location to map its precise alignment and document its past movement patterns. Prior to excavation, up to twenty hand auger boreholes will be drilled for preliminary subsurface geological evaluation to guide the trenching process. The work is designed to enhance understanding of seismic risks associated with the fault and inform long-term dam safety planning. All site disturbance will be fully restored upon completion using the original excavated material, straw, and native seeds as directed by the Plumas National Forest to ensure ecological recovery and environmental compliance.
