The Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic plans to award a firm fixed price purchase order to Tampa Microwave for the evaluation of specific telecommunications equipment, including five units of the IDIRECT 950 Modem Assembly and eight units of the Ku-Band Transceiver, both in white. Tampa Microwave, located in Clearwater, Florida, is the sole original equipment manufacturer (OEM) holding proprietary rights for these items, making them uniquely positioned to ensure full compatibility with existing fielded systems following repairs. This procurement is being conducted under the authority of FAR 12.102(a) as a single-source acquisition below the Simplified Acquisition Threshold, emphasizing the exclusive technical capability and proprietary nature of the equipment. Potential suppliers are invited to express their interest and capability to provide the required services within fifteen days from the posting date of the notice, though this is not a solicitation for competitive quotes, and no formal solicitation will be issued. The decision whether to compete the order will rest solely with the Government based on responses received. The procurement falls under NAICS code 336999 and is managed by NIWC Atlantic, with correspondence directed to the primary point of contact, Austin Rentzel. The evaluation and subsequent purchase will support Department of Defense operations, reinforcing operational readiness through the maintenance and repair of critical communication components.
