Full Description

The National Research Council (NRC) Construction Research Centre (CONST) is undertaking a multi-year initiative to catalyze the decarbonization and digitalization of the Canadian construction sector. Key digitalization activities include the conversion of the National Model Construction Codes and National Master Specification into machine-executable formats, including compatibility with Building Information Models (BIM) and other non-BIM formats and tools. Digitalized codes and specifications are expected to increase efficiency of housing and building development processes such as designing, permitting, and compliance checking. CONST has a requirement to establish a Regional Individual Standing Offer (RISO) for various services on an “as and when requested basis” to support the digitalization of Canadian construction codes, specifications and related construction sector practices.
