The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC),National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH-Pittsburgh)\National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory (NPPTL), intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price purchase order to, Tekscan, Inc., 307 W. 1st St., Boston, MA. for: - 1 - IE1, I-Scan Pressure Measurement System - 1 - Evolution Handle - 1 - I-Scan Software CD - 2 - Sensor Maps - 1 - System Carrying Case - 1 - Sensor Carrying Case - 1 - System Manual The use of the Tekscan IE1, I-Scan Pressure Measurement System with its ultra-thin, smaller pressure sensing cells will allow increased resolution in both the X and Y planes of smaller areas. Minimized distortion of the sandpaper pressure map results in the detection of accurate pressure measurements. This increased resolution of pressure measurements is of paramount interest to NPPTL glove projects. This Procurement is for Commercial Items as defined by FAR Parts 2 & 12. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within 15 days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
