Tender for a General Contractor Required for Mount Hope Library Renovations

The City of Hamilton is seeking a General Contractor for the renovation and expansion of the heritage-designated Mount Hope Library located at 3027 Homestead Drive, Hamilton, Ontario. The scope of work includes extending the library into the adjacent community hall, creating new program spaces, staff and support areas, and implementing accessibility improvements and a universal washroom. Technical upgrades involve the replacement of windows and doors, roof and building envelope upgrades, structural modifications, and the installation of new mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems. A key objective of the project is to establish the city's first existing municipal facility to achieve net zero energy and net zero carbon performance, which includes the integration of photovoltaic solar infrastructure. This solicitation, numbered C13-17-26, is restricted to General Contractors previously selected through a Request for Prequalifications under contract C14-01-24.
