Tenmile Creek Gage Re-initiation

The California Department of Water Resources has entered into a contract with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife as part of the California Stream Gage Improvement Program to reactivate and upgrade an existing stream gage on Tenmile Creek in Mendocino County. Located approximately 5.5 miles northwest of Laytonville, the project aims to record high-quality stream gage data and water temperature in real-time, making this information available to the public via the California Data Exchange Center. The technical scope includes affixing a radar gage to an existing bridge structure, installing a data logger and associated equipment on a bank-mounted pipe, and placing a staff gage within the stream channel. Administratively, the project is identified by solicitation number 2025091043 and falls under NAICS code 541690. Brian Humphrey, a Senior Environmental Scientist, serves as the primary point of contact and signatory. The project has been granted a Notice of Exemption under CEQA categorical exemptions 15301, 15304, and 15306, as the work involves existing facilities and minor land alterations that will not significantly impact the environment or sensitive species.
