The US Army RDECOM AC, Natick intends to negotiate and award on an other than full and open compeition basis a contract with North Carolina State University-Thermal Protection and Comfort Center for the development and demonstration of an instrument thermal hand that can be used in conjunction with the PyroMan instrumented test facility. The institution is the only facility available with the PyroMan chamber in which a simulated flash fire can be performed. Additionally, NSC has developed a unique and proprietary burn injury prediction algorithm software.
