Thin Film Ion Beam Etch and Deposition System

This is neither a formal request for proposal (RFP) nor a formal request for quote (RFQ). The Government will not reimburse any costs associated with the development and submission of materials in response to this request. No solicitation is available at this time; however, should such a requirement materialize, no basis for claims against the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) shall arise as a result of a response to this Sources Sought notice or NRL's use of such information as either part of our evaluation process or in developing specifications for any subsequent requirement. OBJECTIVE The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) is searching for potential sources that are capable of providing a Thin Film Ion Beam Etch and Deposition System which will be installed at NRL. This system will be used in an interdisciplinary, multi-user, Class 100 research cleanroom by NRL personnel to etch thin film coatings using inert and reactive gases and perform sputter deposition of thin film materials onto wafers and variously sized substrates. The system must allow for safe and easy operation for the users and other occupants of the cleanroom facility. Used equipment, in part or in whole, is not acceptable and will not be considered. This system must meet the minimum technical requirements, performance standards and installation requirements that are detailed in the attached draft requirements document. Capabilities statements that do not clearly show the ability to meet the technical requirements, performance standards and installation requirements specified in the attached draft requirements document will not be considered for a future award. Pricing, Schedule, and Commerciality Information NRL is requesting interested contractors to provide pricing information for the Thin Film Ion Beam Etch and Deposition Systems, including catalog prices, rough order of magnitude costs, and delivery schedule. Assumptions Please provide a list of assumptions, if any, which were considered in formulating the response. Past Performance Information Please provide in the response a list of Navy, Department of Defense, federal, or commercial contracts supported during the past 36 months, with a brief description of the supply or service provided per each contract.
